that cost me £10.73 inc postage, that when they say used they don't actually mean, it is a libray book

Maybe it's old stock - libraries sometimes sell off their old books.

If you think it's pinched, call them on it. Or phone the library.

i have brought old libray book before but they are usually stamped to say they have been sold, i am going to email the seller as i think it is out of order, its not like it was a cheap book i have been looking for this book as its a specialist one so i feel a bit taken advantage of

I don't blame you! If it is old stock, they are normally sold by libraries for pennies, so either way it's not on, is it?

(How are you doing atm, anyway?)

Yes. That would be nice. Hope you can arrange something.

Cappuccino · 22/09/2008 16:59

sn books are often scarily priced

I sent one free to a mner once and then later found it selling on amazon marketplace for over £50

if you sell books for a living, you have to go with market forces and get what you can for them

second hand booksellers are really feeling the pinch because of charity bookshops; they may need all the help they can get. it's a tough business

onlyjoking9329 · 22/09/2008 17:00

which day is best for you monday or thursday?
i am doing the macmillan coffee morning on friday but it is probably too far for you.

thats shocking Cap, this one is about your Dad dying so i think it is taking advantage and to be honest the book is not that good/useful.
i need to think about how to word my email

If a book is an ex-library book I would expect them to tell you that. They have a space to write about the condition so the buyer knows what they're getting - I would expect them to use that space to say it was ex-library.

Cappuccino · 22/09/2008 17:10

oh no sorry I didn't mean the mner sold it

I mean that that was the going rate

hecate · 22/09/2008 18:33

Yup, too far (am still very new driver!)

Have no particular day that is bad, just need to plan round it.

jimjamshaslefttheyurt · 22/09/2008 18:35

What condition did they say it was in. I think Amazon guidelines mention with category ex-library books should go in.
