the price of a barrell of oil dropped to just over $90 yesterday, well over $50 less than its peak a few months back and at a price that was last seen in december last year. since the last petrol decrease 6 weeks ago, oil has dropped well over $30 yet my local petrol stations and supermarkets have recently increased the cost by a penny a litre. even going by the industry mantra of it takes 4-6 weeks for prices to filter through, petrol should be at least 5p cheaper now going on the price of oil 6 weeks ago and should be 10p cheaper going on prices 4 weeks ago. oil is decreasing in price at a similar rate to how it went up in price yet we have no price decrease in petrol like it went up in price at the time
is it unreasonable to think that oil companies are lying through their teeth about this 4-6 week thing and are now profiteering at our expense? and it is unreasinable to think that brown et al don't give a damn? (the letter I got back from No.10 this morning just re-iterated what the oil companies say, 4-6 weeks blah blah blah)
