To be embarassed when dh put ds1 (3) on the potty right next to some people enjoying a cream tea in a pretty tea garden!

Dh couldn't see the problem! He said its only embarrassing if you make it embarrassing and hes a little boy!
I felt sorry for the people eating their cream tea! Checked mums net that night saturday - half expecting aibu to be annoyed when a little boy is put on a potty while I'm having afternoon tea in the sunshine! No such thread as far as I know fortunately!

He was! Couldn't he have takn the potty into the nearest toilets?

Uh Oh. Very long and indignant thread on here recently about harrassed mum with babe, putting toddler on potty in restaurant and other diners complaining.

I would hide behind the nearest bushes if I were you and let your DH take the flack.

I must admit I did remember the recent thread and cringed! Dh does think he can wee just about any where because he's only a little boy!

So where did he empty the potty then?

It really is very inconsiderate.

Not to mention the disregard for your son's right to privacy - many parents just don't seem to recognise their small children have that right.

In a bush!!!! He didn't even put him next to our table but near another table entirely! However I didn't mention that in fairness it would have been very difficult to take him to the toilets. We were visiting a local farm and country centre. The tea rooms we visited are only open at weekends. A visit to the tooilets would have involved walking past a great deal of animals a short walk for most adults but not for most 3 year olds!! He therefore just would not have made it! However it also there was many descreet place he could have gone to including behind the bush I mentioned!

We were in the haidressers once when DD (21m at the time) toddled up to her buggy, removed potty from bag underneath buggy, removed her knickers and proceeded to wee in potty in middle of the salon!

The blue rinse brigade thought it hysterical!

If she had told me, I would have taken her to the loo, but she knew we took that potty EVERYwhere

Nogirlsallowed, I see your dilemma but you can't do anything about it now. Maybe next time though.
Milliways, several years back we had a write up in our local newspaper about a mother that had successfully potty trained her little girl. They had a picture of the little one (so proud and confident in her new skill) using a demo toilet in a plumbing,bed and bath shop that they were visiting.
