You are a model mother! Nobody with a 3-month-old should be doing any housework at all.

EmmyLou · 15/09/2008 16:56

No, YANBU. Surely your mum would understand the importance of sofa and chocs? You are obviously in need of refuelling and rest to be able to get on top of housework later...

EmmyLou · 15/09/2008 16:57

...like in 9 months or a year perhaps?

poppy34 · 15/09/2008 16:58

yanbu..am lieing on sofa with my 3 month year old contemplating going to cupboard for chocolate

lovinmatleave · 15/09/2008 16:59

i keep thinking i should get up and spray polish arround the room so it seems like i have done something.
I know ill regret doing nothing later, but oh to do nothing, what luxury........

Perfect practical parenting! Cash in the Attic and a box of Maltesers, I remember it fondly YANBU

cheapskatemum · 15/09/2008 17:16

YANBU, not at all. Go for it!

lovinmatleave · 15/09/2008 17:32

noonki, thats a good way of putting it!

You are doing entirely the right thing. It is far more important that your baby has a relaxed, rested mum than a show home.

mrshall · 15/09/2008 17:42

YANBU. You have to look after yourself.

bluebump · 15/09/2008 17:45

YANBU - but then i'm doing exactly the same!

wehaveallbeenthere · 15/09/2008 17:51

YANBU but you could do one better (I don't know about you but I've never been able to cook, clean or anything else as well as my mother) and ask her what she thinks of your cleaning job. Maybe she will offer to help you clean since you are still healing. It took you 9 months to get there..it should take at least that long to recover.

YANBU. I wish I had spent more time lying on my arse and less time stressing about my house when my DS was that age!

cheshirekitty · 15/09/2008 19:19

YANBU. Get a trashy book out, lovely cup of tea (if bf), glass of wine if not.
