...to think that the orange segment handed to me on a plate along with the hot lemon-scented towel at the end of my meal in the local Indian restaurant should not have been previously sucked by a person unknown to me?

No.

Thought not.

Obviously, you're gonna have to give us more...come on, give us all the gory details..

cadelaide · 08/09/2008 22:43

Well it was pretty straightforward really. Two orange quarters (peel-on) on a plate.....one plump and juicy and the other clearly, obviously sucked. You could see the teeth marks, FFS

LittleBella · 08/09/2008 22:45

God some people are just so pernickety.

cornsilk · 08/09/2008 22:45

It's the credit crunch. Times are hard.

LittleBella · 08/09/2008 22:45

pmsl

They could have at least introduced the unknown person

Standards eh.

Overmydeadbody · 08/09/2008 22:46

lol at cornsilk

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 08/09/2008 22:46

lol.

It'd be funnier if they'd left their set of teeth in the segment too

cadelaide · 08/09/2008 22:48

I'm a little ashamed to admit I did nothing. They are lovely people and it was a very quiet night and I just felt sorry for them. Like cornsilk said....times are hard!

They would probably have wanted to know though wouldn't they?....... that it had slipped through quality control I mean?

handlemecarefully · 08/09/2008 22:50

Will you be going back there?

cadelaide · 08/09/2008 22:54

Yes, we'll go back, and I shall just covertly lick the orange pieces, knowing that the extremely good-looking bloke on the corner table may well suck on them later.

handlemecarefully · 08/09/2008 22:59

Saucy!

Reginaphilangy · 08/09/2008 23:01

Ewww ...

PeaMcLean · 08/09/2008 23:01

We recently had cucumber slices which had clearly been bitten.

I dread to think how common this is.

cadelaide · 08/09/2008 23:03

Well I gues the government is urging us all to reduce food wastage.....

Apparently uneaten salad garnish is washed and re-used in some places. ( I know quite a few waitresses).

handlemecarefully · 08/09/2008 23:10

I so don't want to know that platypussy!

PeaMcLean · 08/09/2008 23:10

Gross! There has to be rules against that!

FabioBadAssCat · 08/09/2008 23:12

yeuch

makes me think fondly of my lidl's catfud

but some oranges are like that, aren't they?
they've sprung a leak when still wrapped in their skin and gone all dry and wizened.

But yeuch.

hecate · 09/09/2008 08:29

Yet another good reason to not eat the salad.

I thank you.

MuthaHubbard · 09/09/2008 16:48

platypussy is right - i used to be a waitress!

cheshirekitty · 09/09/2008 19:04

My hubby used to destroy all salad garnish that was on his plate, ie rip petals off rose shaped garnish etc.

Now I know why.
