To think that my 6 year old shouldn't need ID to prove she's a child?

Bus driver wanted to charge us full fare for her today, as she doesn't have ID

He was a total grumpyarse from the offset, but eventually managed a smirk when I pointed out that his company actually only charge half fare for a child. He was adamant that "rules are rules. Sorry darling" , refused to let us buy a child ticket & we had to get off the blinking bus & wait for the next one

DD is only just 6 FFS

So was this guy bonkers, or just a wanker?

Wanker definately.

TheArmadillo · 03/09/2008 20:58

wanker.

Complain to bus company.

Evelynsmum · 03/09/2008 20:58

I'd complain about him to the company.

fryalot · 03/09/2008 20:59

wanker of the highest order of wank-tastic wankers.

I'd write a letter

McDreamy · 03/09/2008 21:00

Def complain, how bloody ridiculous!

HonoriaGlossop · 03/09/2008 21:00

OMG how utterly bizarre. Complain to the bus company. Sounds like he's having some kind of breakdown and shouldn't be driving buses!
Seriously!

tissy · 03/09/2008 21:00

Wanker

did you get his name/ id badge number?

Overmydeadbody · 03/09/2008 21:00

complete toss pot wanker. What was he on?!

Complain, definately.

Is she a very very tall mature looking 6 yr old?

GrimmaTheNome · 03/09/2008 21:00

a bonkers wanker.

believeintheboogie · 03/09/2008 21:00

as far as i know only 11 year olds upwards should carry a proof of age pass, round here any how.

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 03/09/2008 21:01

Actually - and I've only just remembered this - a couple of years ago, I complained to the bus company about some other piece of fuckwittage, and ended up getting an extremely helpful response from the chief exec. And I still have his direct e-mail addy. Ha!

Knob.

mind you dd2 (only just 6) gets charged for the older kids meals in some places. (some places have an under 8yrs menu and over eights). this has been happening since she was 4.

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 03/09/2008 21:07

She's actually rather small and young looking for her age
