It's at the end of September apparently.

Apparently it's a fundraiser for a very worthy cancer charity. Which is fine. Good, actually.

But what's with the effing name????

here

Oh its a bit of a laugh, last year I bought the yummy mummy & dishy daddy mugs for myself and DH and the glamorous granny & groovy grandad mugs for my parents. They thought they were fab.

shelleylou · 27/08/2008 22:24

im not sure what the name has to do with the fundraising really. But is a fantastic idea

pudding25 · 27/08/2008 22:26

Great idea but I am more slummy mummy...

LynetteScavo · 27/08/2008 22:27

Oh it's old hat.....been there, got the t-shirt! You can be a Dishy Daddy too, y'know!

Makes me feel queasy.

LynetteScavo · 27/08/2008 22:29

Cod they make money out of it, so they're not mega twats are they?!

Or are you calling every one on this thread a twat?

PeaMcLean · 27/08/2008 22:32

But would they make more money if they had a less vomtastic name?

Would do a Macmillan Coffee morning first. Same principle. Similar timing.

'Pop the date in your diary!'

I do dislike this use of the word 'pop'. It's infantilising. 'If you could get up on the couch and pop your pants off for me!'

Also, more seriously, as Pea says, doesn't it clash with the Macmillan thing, which the world and her husband are doing?

LittlePushka · 27/08/2008 22:35

I hate the phrase yummy mummy. yuk yuk yuk.

In fact, way up north we do not have mummies, we have mams.

greenandpleasant · 27/08/2008 22:37

how about "knackered shouty saggy Mummy week"? I'd pop that in my diary ... oh no it's already in there, all year.

ronshar · 27/08/2008 22:40

greenandpleasant, thats odd I too have that in my diary.

donnie · 27/08/2008 22:40

not being funny but what is that weird pink thing on the baby's head in the link? is it some kind of failed head decoration?

LynetteScavo · 27/08/2008 22:44

I bet there is a thread over on "the other side" at this very minute where they ae all extolling the joys of yummy mummy week. Only none of them are, are they.

pointydog · 27/08/2008 22:46

Count me out.

PeaMcLean · 27/08/2008 22:53

Lynette, you go to the other side???

Eeew!

No I don't!

I did go once, and registered, but realised they use your real name, so never posted.
