perhaps he didn't want to worry you

but of course he should have mentioned it

maybe he was really upset and wanted to talk to someone independant first befor telling you?

I sometimes tell friends things before dp if I am worried about telling him them. Or lots of people will post on here before telling their partner.

is he being made redundant today or did you mean you only heard today?
If he's being made redundant today then surely he must have known a while?

So redundancies are being made but your DH may not be one?
Maybe trying not to worry you un-necessarily, he may be quite confident that his job is safe.

we will be ok. he works in a factory[caravans] so they have been getting rid of people for a while, last in first out sort of thing but he has been there for years and they could be getting rid of everyone.
i was sat next to him while he was on the phone i think that is what is bothering me more.

maybe he was just saying it because the person on the phone may be one of the redundancies? And he was like "oh me too?" ... maybe.

Ask him whether he really thinks it?
