it's our money and it's upto us what we spend it on.

There is no earthly reason why you should be a generous, caring or philanthropic person. It is not illegal to be scrooge.

memoo · 22/08/2008 15:52

she is definately living proof that money can't buy you class or intelligence.

Cammelia · 22/08/2008 15:53

You've evidently never been to Africa.

The amount of work you have put into your house is irrelevant. It's still bigger than you need.

There is nothing wrong with it being bigger than you need, but to deny that this is the case is like me saying I can't possibly be overweight because I eat healthily.

There are some facts that don't change according to merit, I'm afraid.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 22/08/2008 15:55

DrBread, reveal yourself namechanger

drbread · 22/08/2008 15:55

I shall be telling this twit exactly what I think and to keep her ugly nose out of my business, and that I think she is downright rude
I shall also say please refrain from talking to me until you have learn't some manners.
thankyou.

Although I would be worried incase John Prescott was lurking, Starlight!!

sagacious · 22/08/2008 15:56

Take that... Donald

PersephoneSnape · 22/08/2008 15:57

why not?

you obviously think you've worked very hard for your money. well done you. I work hard for mine in the public sector, own my own little house, my boys share a bedroom and we're perfectly happy, if a little on top of each other sometimes. but i give a token amount each month to actionaid, because my children could easily have been born in a country where they need a helping hand. they could be at serious risk if they were born to someone else and i want to teach my children that it is gracious to give what you can away. it's ill mannered to be boastful about your good fortune, even if that is on the back of hard work. governments can give foreign aid, and you but i think you have to care about other people. the money i give to actionaid means a happy meal a month for my dcs. it means a lot more to someone on the other side of the world.

now hand me my halo and go count your pennies.

ThatBigGermanPrison · 22/08/2008 15:58

I think you should be giving generously to the Prevent Apostrophe Abuse Sciety

sherbetdipdab · 22/08/2008 15:58

Was it Kirstie Allsop that said your house was too big for your family? If so, you may have got the wrong end of the stick

drbread · 22/08/2008 15:58

homeless! what a croc of shit that is too.
more like drug addict beggers.
probably go back to the night shelter and spend the money people give them on drugs.

all that money and such bitterness

Elffriend · 22/08/2008 15:59

You might want to sort out your spelling then.

It's always tricky, I think, to maintain the moral high ground when you write like a stupid twat an ignoramous.

Perhaps spend your considerable wealth on adult literacy classes.

Tittybangbang · 22/08/2008 15:59

You know those magazines - "Twelve Beautiful Homes"?

Full of interiors of people's houses - people who generally have more money than sense or taste.

You know - the sort of people who'll install £18000 worth of granite kitchen surfaces in the pokey kitchen of an overpriced Wimbledon semi, and try to recreate a 16th century Italian villa effect in said same property (or worse still - in a barn conversion in Tunbridge Wells).

Or those people who have spent tens of thousands of pounds decorating their homes but somehow it all still looks like it comes out of a Next catalogue.... ["Ines and Timothy - who own a publishing company, completely gutted their 16th Century ex-monastry in Upper Arsing in Dorset to create a lovely family home for themselves and their two adorable children Ophelia Fanny, and Balthazar"]

I love looking at those magazines. They make me feel so much better about being skint and living in a shitty old heap.

Go on drbread. Describe your home. I could do with a good old laugh.

PersephoneSnape · 22/08/2008 16:00

thank you OP, for giving me the opportunity to be self righteously indignant, but also to post the actionaid link. you're not all bad.

ThatBigGermanPrison · 22/08/2008 16:01

look here for further arguments for your cause, drbread

memoo · 22/08/2008 16:01

drbread, i really think its you who needs to learn some manners. bragging about one's wealth, which is clearly what you are doing, is crass!

Really nobody gives a shit about how much money you have and surely it is all realtive anyway. I'm sure there are other mumsnetters who have as much waelth as you or possibly even more!

Elffriend · 22/08/2008 16:01

Actually, this is getting funnier. Best troll so far today. Although the others have been really shite.

drbread · 22/08/2008 16:02

never said I could spell.
