we are carpet cleaning today - woohoo! and have shoved the bed right up to one side of the room in order to get better access down the side of it

well! there is masses of room now. I could do my yoga in this space. Or get a proper bookcase or chest of drawers in. And I can see lots of my lovely carpet which is so rich and wonderful. Normally there is just a little strip down each side of the bed

i can see out of the window to the mountains and the bay (we are not near mountains, we just have a very tall thin house)

but I can't keep it like this because irritating dh wants to be able to get out of bed in the morning and have his bedside table and his clock and other stuff

so can I throw him out now? can I?

Get bunk beds

Uriel · 21/08/2008 14:24

No, because then you'd have a cold bed and yoga wouldn't make up for it.

Cappuccino · 21/08/2008 14:25

I could get a furry throw

RustyBear · 21/08/2008 14:27

You could put a little shelf on the wall for the stuff.

Or you could change sides with DH, so you're the one right up against the wall.

Uriel · 21/08/2008 14:28

How about a dog? Fur factor and warmth.

Cappuccino · 21/08/2008 14:29

no, Rusty, that's not going to work

how ridiculous

I wouldn't be able to get out of bed

Hecate · 21/08/2008 14:34

Well, it's obvious really.

Make him sleep in the shed.

TigerFeet · 21/08/2008 14:38

How big is your sofa? A good sized three seater is big enough for the average dh imvho.

Cappuccino · 21/08/2008 14:50

Tiger that's genius

also he would have the TV

oh that works, that works fine

YANBU!

Tortington · 21/08/2008 14:57

i think bunk beds is the clear solution here

BouncingTurtle · 21/08/2008 15:11

Yes but then they'll be fighting over who gets the top bunk and divorce will ensue.

Cappuccino · 21/08/2008 15:16

no NO bunk beds

they will block the view from the (very low) window

the only solution other than divorce is the sofa

it is a very nice sofa in my defence

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 21/08/2008 15:24

Our sofa is extremely comfortable

According to dh

threekids · 22/08/2008 20:06

Thats such a cool idea....

If my old man left home and took all his crap with him i would have loads and loads more space. AND i wouldnt be worried about being cold at night cause i make sure that the quilt separates us so we dont actually have to touch and i wear as many clothes as i can just to keep warm cause he gets "tooo hot" .

On the down side who would make my coffee?!?!

moondog · 22/08/2008 20:09

Bunk beds.
What was that film. where Tom Hanks was a kid in a man's body? He got friendly with a girl who breathed 'I'll go on top' in his ear, took her home, flung open the bedroom door and gestured to the bunkbeds.

moondog · 22/08/2008 20:10

'Big'
V. funny.

dandandan · 22/08/2008 20:14
