Drink more wine, darling (you will wake up in muck sweat & fling off covers)

ThatBigGermanPrison · 19/08/2008 23:18

I'm sitting here in the midlands in vest and shorts and I'm comfortable - where are you, Fife?

LynetteScavo · 19/08/2008 23:19

I wore ski socks to bed last night, as well as an extra duvet.

DH says I can't have the heating on untill October.

hatwoman · 19/08/2008 23:19

stealthsquiggle · 19/08/2008 23:21

TBGP is fibbing, hatwoman (or she has the heating on) - it's freezing in the midlands too [shiver]

Flibbertyjibbet · 19/08/2008 23:22

We are in Lancashire, had the heating on last night and tonight - and I'm waiting for the kettle to boil so i can fill my HOT WATER BOTTLE!!!!

Alambil · 20/08/2008 00:17

I sleep nekkid under just the duvet COVER - no duvet inside with the window open too; it's perfectly warm enough!

I'm not putting my heating on until October or November - possibly later if I can help it

piratecat · 20/08/2008 00:22

MintChocAddict · 20/08/2008 00:24

I'm in Scotland. People don't wear PJs and have an extra duvet every night then??????

Overmydeadbody · 20/08/2008 00:29

It is farkin ridiculous weather for August, I remember not so long ago August was a summer month! I think it is suffering a midlife crisis and trying to fit in with the Autumn crowd.

Pixel · 20/08/2008 19:33

I've had a week's camping so I'm still acclimatised. I'm sitting here on the sofa with the back door wide open (living-room is at back of house) and the rain pouring down about 4ft away from me. It's quite nice really, reminds me of our holiday .
Would still prefer to be outside the door enjoying some evening sun though .

TheCrackFox · 20/08/2008 19:40

Had to put the gas fire on last night - I was freezing.

GrimmaTheNome · 20/08/2008 19:45

It really isn't that cold.(In Lancashire anyway). external temp even at this time of
the evening is over 16. Our (unheated) house is at over 21. We are keeping bedroom curtains shut during day, as per summer usual, to stop it getting too warm to sleep
comfortably.

Can't believe anyone is cold enough to need heating as opposed to a cardi and maybe a pair of socks.

expatinscotland · 20/08/2008 19:47

Have a dram of whisky. That will heat you up.

We wear long-sleeves and trousers pretty much all summer.

And woolie socks.

WilfSell · 20/08/2008 19:49

my heating is broken and [fleeced emoticon]
