To think that Credit Card Fraud SUCKSSSS

Just found out that some kind, waste of bloody space had spent over £2,000 using my credit card.

I am really and feel violated

oh thats awful.. Happened to my friend recently too. Will the credit card company reimburse the money?

I hope so! My account is still going to be debited and it will be disputed and hopefully the money will be put back soon.

Its just really upset me, i wouldnt dream of spending £2k on anything when i have a house and a family to provide for. Its just the fact that some how my details have been picked up.

The only thing i use my card for is buying goods online, and i only shop at like five places and have done for ages. The last purchase was for wool, and knitting needles. Hardly someone to go and buy big electricals!!!

Makes me so angry that it always seems to happen to the decent hardworking people that are trying to do their best for their families. . Really feel for you.
Do you ever eat out? My friend had her card cloned at a resturant in dublin (she uses her c/c online and it was her switch card that was cloned, resturant was only place it was out of her sight for 5 mins). They emptied her account on the day she was paid. She ended up getting it back from bank, but it's not just about the money. As you said it's the feeling of being violated.

Just happened to DH - whilst we were on holiday someone slowly used our money to buy their online essays and mobile phone prepay

Really crap and we can't think when or where card would have been cloned.

I actually live in a UK overseas territory, we dont have cash points, and use cash only! The credit cards are used only online or when we go overseas on holiday. As we have just built a house we simply couldnt afford to go overseas on holiday so its got to be something off shore.

It true slavemum, it always seems to be those who work the hardest get stung the hardest!

I soooo need a holiday now though, but i cant so i think i will just get on with some nice soothing knitting!!

That happened to DD3 a few months ago, She had saved up nearly £2000 towards her wedding. Fortunetly her bank was very helpful and she did get all the money back,

i work in the fraud dept of a big bank and 99% of the customers get ther money back.its happening more and more. we hear of some desperate cases!

Ugh it's awful, some managed to charge £140 to my debit card once for t mobile?? I'm not sure how that one worked out but I got the money back

This has happened twice now to me. I think my card was cloned from a garage I used. The bank reimbursed me both times (1,000 plus each time) second time they were more suspicious of me though.

Well my card has been cancelled so hopefully it wont happen again.

When these people go on shopping sprees with someone elses money and details i just wonder if they are thinking about the people they and ripping off. I also wonder how many actually get caught?

One blue day £ 14.000,- (!) got billed on my credit card. A company (?) in the Dutch Antilles. I spend a lot but def not in that league. The credit card company didn't even question this amount. I mean, lots of £50 - £ 200 here and there, but not £14.000,- in ne go. They didn't even call to say there had been irregular activities on the card, nada.

I pulled the card, the amount got suspended. I have since received 2 FedEx bills with that weird company name on them asking for very high tax payment and threatening legal action. The letters look like FedEx letters but the telephone numbers and email addresses don't match, are misprinted and the address in Cambridge is misspelled (DH is from the area and knows the FedEx centre there). I have handed all to police and credit card company in the hope others are prevented from being fraudet. It looked like an online scam.

Was so upset at the time, couldn't sleep. So scared they were going to debit my account. I mean £14.000,- on top of normal spend is crazy.

threekids unless the bank can show that you were negligen tin some way (e.g. the fraudster had your PIN number and the only way they could have gotten that was because you'd written it down somewhere accessible) they are obliged to refund your money. The fraud is actually a crime against them so they are insured. I know it's a horrible thing to go through but you shouldn't be out of pocket at the end of it.

There have been a lot of cards cloned in Shell/Esso garages I think over the last year or so - people deliberately getting jobs there so they can clone cards and there was a network of people. I only use my credit cards because I think it's easier to get the money back - if you use a debit card from your bank account and it takes months to sort out you have no access to yur bank account during all that time. I felt seriously violated when my ebay account was hacked into recently. I am fed up with always having to be on guard about identity theft/fraud etc. It's so ridiculous the amount of things we have to be worried/wary about. Very very stressful for you and everyone else it has happened to.

Found another £1k worth of transactions today, running total of £3k!!!

I was definitely a lot calmer about the second lot than the first, but still racked off
