Or made from cookbooks by children themselves?

it's the roald dahl range currently being sold in tescos

I think it's a shame.

they arent anything like my childhood imagination.

LynetteScavo · 15/08/2008 17:51

They won't taste as good as they sound.

AbbaFan · 15/08/2008 17:52

Tesco's just can't help themselves - they want a piece of everything!

misdee · 15/08/2008 17:53

how can you have fizzy lifting cakes?

i loved the sound of fizzy lifting drink. i always imagined it as a rather sweret lemonade/lime/citrus drink, which didnt have that aftertaste that a lot of fizzy's have.

MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 18:08

You see! If I was little I would eat a fizzy lifting cake and be overwhelmingly pissed off and disappointed.

It could ruin your whole life if you were small.

Bloody bastard tescos.

My mother bought me the fizzy lifting cakes for my birthday and I was .......deeply disappointed (even though I'm 23 lol)

It's got that fizz whiz shit in it thats why its "fizzy" lifting.

wotnopulling · 15/08/2008 18:18

i'm no fan of tesco but it's dahl's estate who are cashing in on the merchandising here (as well as tesco, of course). it'd be nice to think they'd be above this sort of cheap trick to make a quick buck (which they can't possibly need). nice, but unrealistic.

ladymariner · 15/08/2008 18:34

No, yanbu. Why do they do it? Children need to imagine things for themselves, why do people feel the need to do every little thing for them, including thinking???

MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 18:45

That's exactly what I thought.

NoBiggy · 15/08/2008 18:55

"fizz whiz shit".

My phrase for the day.

Blu · 15/08/2008 18:56

The whole point of wondrous magical cakes is that they are too wondrous and magical to appear in RL.
Let alone a RL on a shelf in Tesco.

I mean, what next, Manna in microwavable sachets??

wotulookinat · 15/08/2008 18:59

I don't see the problem.

abbieslife · 15/08/2008 19:46

Have you actually tasted them? They're nice!!!!
Know what you mean though, about kids imaginations. A cookbook of them to make with the kids would be fantastic.

Bumdiddley · 15/08/2008 19:49

Where's the fucking frobscottle?

FanjolinaJolly · 15/08/2008 19:57

PMSL @ Bumdiddley

CouldYouWouldYouWithaGoat · 15/08/2008 19:59

i want a giant peach to travel the world in.

Bumdiddley · 15/08/2008 20:01

I tried making George's Marvellous Medicine but nobody would drink it

southeastastra · 15/08/2008 20:59

are you really worried about this? lol

mamadiva · 15/08/2008 21:01

Ooh BFG cakes my mum used to make them well I say make them with me

Buy fairy cakes and put that crackly stuff on the icing LOL.

I was obsessed although I think she only made the cakes about 3 times.

muggglewump · 15/08/2008 21:04

We've got a Roald Dahl cookbook. I've never used it though, or the Shrek one come to think of it.
I really must get round to using them

MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 21:04

I'm not worried about it.

It just annoys me.

OP posts:
MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 21:05

And so you should with a name like that muggglewump!

OP posts:
Bobbiewickham · 15/08/2008 21:06

You can get frobscottle.

And the other one, can't remember name.

In long life cartons.

mistypeaks · 15/08/2008 21:07

SHIT I've just been outed as a shitty terrible mom then.
I made goggleberry (noddy) muffins with my girls (blueberries obviously). I should have left well alone

MarkStretch · 15/08/2008 21:10

But it's nice to make them with your mum. Then you get the pleasure of making them and waiting for them to cook and tasting them and it's fun and exciting.

Not buying them off the shelf in fucking tescos and opening a packet.

IT'S WRONG I TELLS YA!
