If we expect them not to swear surely we should set a good example. (Not saying I have never done this just that I think it is wrong). What is the worst swear word you would say in front of your dcs and would you tolerate them using it?

I used to say Oh my God quite a bit but have stopped now, as I don't want dd saying it, it sounds awful coming from a child.
Dd thinks it is swearing and pulls people up if they say it

Everyone yells at the dcs every now and again, surely? Not abusive unless regular or accompanied by personal attacks on them, imo.

However I have never heard anyone I know swear at their kids or admit to doing so. I think abusive may be a bit strong but certainly it's highly inappropriate.

I have also been known to ask others to control their language in front of dd.

btw they are not only words, they can cause offence and a child could be suspended from school for using them.
