He is HAMMERING. It is annoying me.

And slamming the bonnet.

I live on a street in a terrace and it is parked outside my house.

Try living next door to a mechanic, I have it all year round! You have my sympathy.

I am thinking about shutting my bedroom window firmly and glaring at him with pursed lips.

god how inconsiderate! I sympathise with you. one of my neighbours has been letting off fireworks - did the same thing last night. really annoying.

Go and SAY something!!

Some teenaged boys were playing basketball nearby a few nights ago. I lay in bed stressed out by it, but htinking I can't go and complain 'til after 11. At 11.03 I put on my slippers and marched across the road and say "guys, guys, it's after 11 and you can probably sleep 'til lunch time but my children will be jumping on me at 6 am tomorrow".

They were very apologetic. I had expected sniggers or even "and? so?", they haven't done it after ten since then. WHich I can cope with.

maybe he needs it to work to get to work tomorrow though?

mrsleroyjethrogibbs · 29/07/2008 22:05

I do sympathise. we too have arse neighbours who go out and leave their dog howling till the early hours or they hammer till midnight or wait for it...start hoovering at 2am, yes thats right 2am!!
Nice

Perhaps he needs it to get to work in the morning? Is it a regular occurence or just tonight? If it's just tonight I'd assume it was an emergency, after all it's not really that late. If it's regular then go out and have a quiet word.

I had to block up the air vent in my sitting room because diesel and petrol fumes from his revving of various engines had me woozy and for years I was wondering why I kept nodding off around nine!
