To want to be able to buy a card for DH for our 10th Anniversary that won't make him want to vomit into his weetabix on Thursday morning?

Honestly ...
I hobbled around 3 card shops today on my crutches and couldn't find one decent card that didn't have some pukesville photo on the front or a vomit worthy poem inside.
Who buys this shite?????

Why not hop over to arts and crafts thread and make a card? Glitter, sequins, crayons, stickyback plastic :-)

nailpolish · 29/07/2008 10:00

oh i know exactly waht you mena

i always end up buying plain ones from the museum or suchlike

why the crtuches btw?

mumblechum · 29/07/2008 10:00

Make one! We always make anniversary cards for each other. For our 10th I made a sort of photo montage of the highlights and stuck it in a bit of white card with a simple red heart.

You could do your own on the computer. Find a pic of you or the dcs, find an appropriate quotation and save money.

DH and I rarely buy each other cards these days as they are such a rip off price-wise anyway.

Bumdiddley · 29/07/2008 10:04

Yeah, we don't do cards although 10 years is a biggy.

Offer him a BJ and swallow. He'll appreciate it more

nailpolish · 29/07/2008 10:05

oh god i would HATE it if dh made me a card

cancer research shops as do oxfam have nice cards

HongKongFoeey · 29/07/2008 10:05

moonpig. i got a really good one for dh with our names on-kind of a vegas wedding chapel picture.

mosschops30 · 29/07/2008 10:07

Oh yes I know where youre coming from, have had this conversation with my local card shop.

So instead of the card saying 'darling husband i love you more today than I did yesterday' bleurgh!!!

it should read:

'darling, i do love you, but i'd love you more if you finished the kitchen you started 3 years ago and started putting your clothes in the wash basket'

maybe we could start a business making more realistic cards

maidamess · 29/07/2008 10:09

Never buy an 'Anniverasry' card. Find a blank one with a lovely pic on and write what you want to say. Those poems are written by loons most of the time

'As we near our anniversary day
Its time for me to try to say
How much I hold you in my heart
Just like a horsey needs a cart

And as the years go tumbling by
Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry
But you will have me by your side
A motorbike and sidecar having a ride.'

See. Any loon can write them

maidamess · 29/07/2008 10:10

I write that in 15 seconds. Could you tell?

HongKongFoeey · 29/07/2008 10:11

i like this

bit slushy

good

ghosty · 29/07/2008 10:16

? Are you ????
No chance of that I'm afraid - arts and crafts make me come out in a rash ... I get a nervous tic if DD mentions Playdough

LOL and ROFL at BJ and a swallow ... DH will think all his christmasses have come at once ...
Actually it may be enough to keep him going for the next 10 [ponders]

Naily - crutches AND plaster - broke my foot hence the fact I have been on MN for the last week or so ... he he he
