To think that my DP should understand that i have NEEDS that i have to attend to, and if he is out at work then it is only fair that i jump on the nearest available....

Source of relief???? I mean, as women of the world, we all know that we have needs, and sometimes these needs just wont wait until our partners return from work.....

Right: Having got your attention ladies, i shall paste the real question that is burning in my mind, i posted it elsewhere but clearly no one is up for recepie porn
"OK, DDs birthday party on Sunday - we have already had her birthday and we made a little cake together, just with butter cream icing on top. Was thinking of doing Marslady's lemon drizzle cake without the drizzle and then decorating. Not sure it will stand up to fondant icing though??

Actually i haven't a clue - HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPP im a cake decorating virgin.

I don't want to end up getting a cake from Tesco as they are vile so really want to make one. "

THANKYOU!

you know.. I actually finished that sentence with the word "bus".

Perhaps it's due to the fact I have zero sex drive.

Can't help with the cake, though.

eandz · 25/07/2008 12:23

buttercream frosting? then some pretty ready made roses or summer fruit? on the side mix egg white and sugar to make sugar crystal glaze for the fruit if you decide on fruit?

PussinJimmyChoos · 25/07/2008 12:24

I can't see why a drizzle cake wouldn't stand up to fondant icing....just make sure its really cooled first before you put it on...

You are right... the thread did get my attention....

I was thinking rampant rabbit myself...

Carmenere · 25/07/2008 12:29

LDC will be fine with icing on top. Iiwy I would do a light drizzle before icing or else just do a really thick lemon icing.

lucyellensmum · 25/07/2008 12:33

Turniphead, my DP is a tradesman, so not really too much of a change............FIREMAN/MEN

LEM. I have no clue what you are on about. Unless you have done it with the PIE, rather cleverly as in that teen sex drama movie where he shagged the pie.

Are you lusting after the lemon drizzle in a norty way? Planning on smearing the frosting elsewhere?

Otherwise I cant see what your needs and your absent hubby has got to do with fondant icing and lemon drizzle cake.

May I suggest Lem, Go get yourself Dazzle, the Drizzle sweet lemon icing on your DH when he gets back, then TAKE TO BED WITH CHAMPERS. Or cappucino. Or iced mocha with a can of shake your own cream.

lucyellensmum · 25/07/2008 12:56

but that still doesnt make me a birthday cake for sunday does it!

different coloured butter icing?? :D

How old is DD? Maybe drizzle different colours all over so it looks a mess artistic

QuintessentialShadows · 25/07/2008 13:52

Of course it doesnt. Shagging the pie does not make the cake.
