...he's 8 months old, has just figured out how to crawl. We have decking outside our back door and he's made his way out there and was sitting merrily chomping on moss when I got to him!!!

YABU - yesterday mine managed to ingest sand, mud and grass!

You never know it is probably full of nutrients and vitamins. It is green after all! You may have caught on to something big!

half a slug for dinner

slugs, snails, mud, flies (dead) are all fine...

but sand? I can't bear it when they do that .. ohhh it get's my teeth going, they grind it and then have sandy poo ugghhh

Slugs and snails and puppy dogs tails....that's what little boys are made of. God how right that is!

He did have that look LewisFan LOLOL How can they be so expressive at such an early age!!

DS1 was really quite reserved, he liked to taste things but would never eat them and certainly never ate mud. DS2 is gonna be trouble

Girls do it too.
I recall turning my back for ooh, 10 seconds only to turn back and find DD happily chomping on a snail.
She also ate cat food at every opportunity and looked most put out when I wouldn't let her.
I wish she'd eat it now, far cheaper than any other meat.

Within 30 mins bring on holiday dd2 (9mths) ate rabbit poo .

DD ate her own poo lizziemum I have a photo of her with it all round her mouth.
Clearly I missed the PFB phase and took pictures to use when she brings home ugly unsuitable bf's one day
