It was opened for my birthday on Sunday but I was boozed out so didn't finish it, but it is still slightly fizzy and damn it all, it is expensive, I really don't want to pour it dwn the sink? So AIBU?

What is the problem here, exactly? Sounds very pleasant.

Carmenere · 08/07/2008 17:27

Pass a glass over here! Thanks.

Totally not unreasonable. The CO2 that fizz gives off is heavier that air, so sits in the bottle protecting the wine from oxidization etc. Okay, it's lost a bit of fizz, but no reason for it not to be still very drinkable.

Gordon Brown says you have to, otherwise you'd be being wasteful.
