Would it be bad form to eat before our guests turn up?

Had an email from a childhood friend who now lives in Australia on Sunday. Saying he and his g/f are in the UK and could they come and stay Tuesday.

I replied, giving our address and tel number and asked what time they'd be here.

Haven't heard from them yet. The thing is, we normally eat around 6 - at this stage I have no idea if they are still planning on coming.

What should I do? Would it be bad form to eat now and put some pizzas on for them if they do turn up?

No, of course YANBU, you have no idea when or even if they are coming.

you should eat. If they haven't confirmed then they can't expect you to cater for them.

You are offering to feed them later so no problem.

Thanks, I guess I'm just a bit concerned because they're doing lots of travelling around so I'm worried they may not have internet access hence not having replied. That said, they don't have my address so without internet access they wouldn't be able to get here anyway...
