For flicking a switch on fusebox that sent power to DH's x-box, then faking belief it was a powercut?

He was pissing me off sat shooting stuff whilst I pottered with two grouchy kids who were refusing dinner and then single-handedly tackling the washing-up.
So I switched the power off at the fuse box and batted my eyelashes innocently if he asked me had there been a power cut.

Yes, he did lose his place on the game.
No I'm not sorry.

Ah, genuis idea. I only wish our fuse box wasn't lurking in a dark corner under the stairs.
I wonder if there will be a sudden increase in "power cuts" across the UK. hehehe.

iamdingdong · 07/07/2008 15:54

oh that sounds very reasonable to me

Oliveoil · 07/07/2008 15:56

You are a very naughty genius!

AphroditeInHerNightie · 07/07/2008 16:55

'course, now i've burnt my bridges a tad unless i can convince him with my theory that the infernal console is faulty and keeps causing power outages, thus requires returning to the manufacturers for 'analysis'.
Next level is attributing it to seismological activity or other acts of god

still i did enjoy it while it lasted!

Well done

My ex used to be the same! (always playing computer games) wish I would have thought of that one, might have stopped me dumping him lol!!!

duchesse · 07/07/2008 17:01

Flipping brilliant! How about replacing his 3 amp fuse with a 15 amp one just before a storm? That would be more terminal...

VictorianSqualor · 07/07/2008 17:05

Check out my advice here.
It's a classic, well done you!!
Great minds.......

lizziemun · 07/07/2008 17:13

Good idea.

Slight fault here is fuse board in his office and i would have to ask him to get off his chair so i can climb up and turn it off. Might give him a clue as to what i am up to .

Love2bake · 07/07/2008 17:20

I share your pain. I have an xbox 360 addict in my house.

Not only do I have to put up with 24/7 shooting, it's the shouting into the head-piece that really gets me, arrrggghhhh

hansnava · 07/07/2008 22:38

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha that is sooo funny.

i wish i had thought of that my dp drives me insane with his fecking ps3 and call of blooding duty 4. he's 35 yrs old for god sake and plays it at every chance he gets. he really annoys me with it particually when hes playing it on line and talking to people through his head piece and i go in the room to ask him something and he goes sssssshhhhh pointing to his headpiece then two seconds later farts so they can hear.

stealthsquiggle · 07/07/2008 22:46

I am impressed. I would be too much of a wimp to do it as the same switch would power off the sky plus box (which has a tendency to die) and the fish tank.
