Not unreasonable at all!! The chd still spent that money at the fayre.

wigparty · 05/07/2008 20:02

YANBU - how bizarre! Did they think people wouldn't notice?

BagelBird · 05/07/2008 20:04

If my children put HP all over their own ice creams I would not ask for a refund for their error.
If I knew the people running the stall I might mention it to them to keep an eye out for younger children making the same mistake - but in a light hearted manner.
Of course, if some teenager serving up was playing a nasty joke I would marching over there with my indignant mum face on

wigparty · 05/07/2008 20:06

Ah, that's true - did your DCs add the sauce themselves?

Rachmumoftwo · 05/07/2008 20:07

They may have done it themselves thinking it looked like chocolate sauce. I would have refunded them. School fayres are for raising money, but also for giving children a nice day.

MakemineaGandT · 05/07/2008 20:08

sorry but I am chuckling at the thought of brown sauce on an icecream. Was it brown bread flavour ice cream orinoco?!

Desiderata · 05/07/2008 20:09

Yes, it all hinges on whether your dc's put the brown sauce on themselves.

If they did, I'd have left it.

ChasingSquirrels · 05/07/2008 20:09

read thread title thinking "do you know ow much hard work goes into these things", read thread and now think YANBU - brown sacue ffs.

GirlySquare · 05/07/2008 20:14

YANBU - they made a mistake and refunded the money, and the child still spent the money at the fayre.

Since it was the lady on the stall that did it I'm wondering how many other people got brown sauce on their ice creams that afternoon (and/or chocolate sauce on their hot dogs...). Bleurgh.

Cryptoprocta · 05/07/2008 22:51

You'd pay a lot for that if Heston Blumenthal served it to you at the Fat Duck

GirlySquare · 06/07/2008 12:08

rofl at Cryptoprocta!
