Can anyone remember this thread?

I hope I’m not imagining it, but I can’t find any trace of it through advanced search!

OP was a gay man whose boyfriend’s brother and SIL had invited them over for “Christmas food” a few days before Christmas itself. He went expecting an actual Christmas dinner (turkey and so on) but they were actually serving party nibbles (so Christmas party food rather than the strict definition of Christmas food, if there is one).

He actually confronted them and got into an argument about it - I think there might have even been tears! - and declared that they’d basically conned him by saying they would be serving Christmas food. It ended up with the brother not speaking to the boyfriend, OP and boyfriend falling out…

Tell me I didn’t dream it!!

No, you didn't dream it, I remember it too. I don't think the op is around these days, but I recall he had quite a history of posting somewhat... self-absorbed content which attracted a fair bit of controversy.
I'm pretty sure was the same individual who apparently came home from the the supermarket in tears because he'd bought a bottle of wine and the assistant didn't check his age!

Oh god I remember that poster, he was totally self absorbed and went in a strop at the drop of a hat. I imagine quite a lot of those threads were deleted because they didn’t go the op’s way or degenerated into a slanging match between the op and just about everyone.

OMG, this was it, thank you!! I got it the wrong way around about the nibbles - he did want them and didn’t get them.

Yes @NoteyMcNoteface, I think he did have several threads - all of them a bit crackers!
