Would you feel sorry for children in breakfast and after school club every day?

Just wondering. Considering career change but would involve y2 and yR age children doing the above every day.

Mine is and a lot of friends children are. Unfortunately it's not a option for a lot of parents. I sometimes think I get judged but hey oh I like having a house and food.

My child LOVES both of these things and asks to go every day (they don’t as it isn’t necessary but go 3x per week). It can make the day seem long to us but they are only playing during these times so I don’t think it tires them out any more than a normal day

My DD loved Breakfast Club because they made pancakes which her mother couldn't 😂

There’s no point considering how someone else feels about it, all that matters is how you feel, how your children feel and what your family needs.

Some parents don’t want their children in wrap around every day, some don’t think twice and some might not love it but do it because they have to. There’s no one answer.

Not in the slightest. My kids have been in daycare/preschool/school from 7.30am-5pm pretty much their entire lives from 4 months old, with the exception of the years we had a nanny who would collect them and take them to after school activities.
Theyre 15 and 12 now and still in school 7.15am-5pm. They’re absolutely fine and thriving 🙂

You do what you need to do to progress your lives as a whole and making a career move that helps do that may benefit you all far more for the long term.

Yes I'd feel sorry for the children but it doesn't mean I'd judge the parents.
I'm aware that many parents have no choice.

I know I was incredibly lucky to be able to do school drop off and pick ups.

No. My kids loved being at school and were happy to be there as long as possible.

HermioneWeasley · Today 16:26

No. Why would I?

Paojrvtis · Today 16:27

I’ve done it and it’s not a choice I’d actively make for my children unless necessary. My two didn’t like it though so if I had children who did I’d most likely feel differently

It's a long day, that's the only thing. Some kids will be ok with that, others not. Could you consider a childminder for the afternoon some days, to give a more homely/ calm environment? This was something we did when mine were younger.

My kids have always loved both breakfast and after school club, the school is quite small and give them food and have a chill out corner with some cushions etc and a TV for kids that want to relax a bit. I think they would have been very tired going to both every day, but as PPs says lots of kids do and just get used to it.
