To think this isn’t how you wash hair?

DS 10 needed to wash his hair. He only had a shower this morning so didn’t want a full body wash. It has been a battle to get him to wash recently so we compromised with just a hair wash.

I walked in on DH washing DS hair in the bathroom sink. We have a bathtub with a removable shower attachment in the same room.

AIBU to think washing hair over the bathtub would be the obvious choice? DH doesn’t seem to think so.

Jeez is there any wonder so many men have affairs get a grip

Why would questioning how someone washes hair result in an affair?

Is that the excuse your DH gave you?

I genuinely had no idea people washed hair in a sink when a bathtub is present.

MN has educated, shamed, and humbled me all in one evening. Maybe I have lived a sheltered life.

Great work, ladies.

and here you are picking fault at the way it’s being done! Pick your battles… this isn’t one of them, be glad he’s washing!

Sink for me. Bending over the bath kills my back.

Yep ...that would be my reason too

springintospring26 · Yesterday 19:33

Why did a 10 year old need a parent to wash his hair? Why didn’t he just wash it when he last had a shower? Bat shit

didnttellasoul · Yesterday 19:34

The shower is the obvious place, not over the bath. Failing that if the child has issues, who cares.

dementedpixie · Yesterday 19:34

I used to wash my hair over the kitchen sink when I was a child/teen at home. It had a mixer tap and you didnt get a sore back from bending over. We didnt have a shower so the alternative was kneeling over the bath with a hose attached to the bath taps

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · Yesterday 19:39

When I was 10, i used the sink and and Fairy Liquid - if we had had had a jet-wash I think I would have tried that! (I was 10)!!!

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · Yesterday 19:39

Well it's not like he had his head down the lavatory using this flush to rinse or had him outside in the garden with his head over a drain with the hosepipe.

MyEasterBonnet · Yesterday 19:41

Surely the easier thing is to just get in the shower.

It’s a fresh variation on ‘she just doesn’t understand me’, I suppose 😂

Sink feels like it would be a lot more awkward and trouble than using a shower or bath, but I suppose if it gets the job done

I dunno. Hairdressers seem to manage with sinks.

But yeah, I would use a bath if I had one.

honeylulu · Yesterday 19:49

If he's got short hair it might actually be easier to do it over the sink. If my husband washes hair when not due for a bath he uses the sink.

Me, son and daughter all have long hair so it wouldn't work for us as wouldn't be able to rinse effectively and long wet hair would splash and drip water everywhere..

People are weird (myself included), but there it is.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂😂

Ah man. Thanks for that.

Tbf.. the more I think about this.. it is fucking weird to use the sink because then are you using the taps?? Instead of the bath and shower head? Maybe the child just refused to go near the bath. Sinks are messier too for water splashing about because they tend to be smaller in homes. Hmm..

DoAWheelie · Yesterday 19:54

It's more comfortable to lean over a sink than a bath. If you hover too far above then you get water all down your front so you need to stay quite close. Hovering over something below your waist puts a lot of strain on your legs and back Vs something that's higher up.

The whole point of washing your hair like that is to stay dry so not hovering and getting soaked is pointless.

BriarTime · Yesterday 19:55

Not sure why my previous comment was deleted, but I’d like to reassure the reporter that the remark was a tongue-in-cheek summation of some of the crazier remarks OP has received on this bizarre thread and not an expression of my own view (hence the laughing emoji).

This would be my pick, too. It’s got to be easier than hovering over a sink or a bath.

Is there a full moon tonight ? This isn't even the most batshit thread I've read in the last 5 minutes . . .

😂
