Been away for a few days (had a 2 week half term). Neighbour has been feeding the cat - just about to get in the car last week and told dd15 to check all the upstairs doors were shut. Came downstairs- yeah yeah, all done mum.

Come back; my bed is covered in cat shit and piss, duvet, mattress and sheets including electric blanket all ruined .

Should lhave trusted a 15 year old with such a responsibility?! Or done it my fucking self.

Cat did have a litter tray by the way and is not capable of opening a door so l have to assume she didn't do it - so pissed off and room stin

Do you have a smart alarm? I can see on my phone app if someone moves around the house while I’m away. If you have one it might help you to figure out if a human went upstairs while you were away.

Thanks to everyone who replied. So neighbour told me she popped in, fed him, left him to eat brekkie then popped back an hour later to let him out. His usual routine is to feed him then go straight out so for him to have to stay in after eating is totally out of habit for him. Doesn't explain how he got in the room but explains maybe why he did it in the house - not sure why je didn't use the litter tray. Def not ill - maybe he was cross we left him !? New duvet has been ordered!

Could it have been the person feeding the cat who couldn’t find your bathroom and maybe she blamed it on the feline?

I am sorry, are you suggesting a gown up woman pooped and peed on OP's bed and blamed it on a cat? Have you ever had a cat? I promise you there is no way on earth one would confuse human excrement with cat's. Not even if it is a particularly chunky Maine Coon.

Cats can become distressed if their owners go away. But will not soil their environment via some sort of human style ‘dirty protest’.
The only time a cat will not go out is if they are not able to. That will be due to someone not letting them out or a cat flap being switched to stop them going out. Or another animal cat or dog being present to stop them from wanting to.
In any event, you neighbour who let the cat out for you in time for you to get home did nothing to clean up the mess. Which isn’t very nice of them.

I reckon he was in for a lot longer than an hour and she’s just embarrassed to admit it.

@durdledoris honestly think cat had the serious ache and was letting you know. They absolutely will do that 🤢

Flannelfeet · Yesterday 20:57

It was a dirty protest because you went away on holiday for 2 weeks and tiddles was left behind. He was seriously pissed off at not being invited so that was his payback. 🐱.
