So I have a work colleague. I suffered a miscarriage, as did she. Therefore we ended up befriending each other, as we were going through this at the same time. She hadn’t expressed if she was going to continue trying for a family but I admitted that I was. I ended up going through a long fertility journey and we remained friends. I found out I was pregnant and she congratulated me but then distanced herself from me. I was mindful to be sensitive to her situation, and not talk about my pregnancy, unless she asked me. Anyway, she stopped talking to me. Then sadly I miscarried again, and she was the first one there offering her condolences. I fell pregnant again and now have a baby, and she has completely stopped talking to me. I try with her but she ignores me now so I’ve just stopped trying. I understand she might be hurting and I’ve tried asking her but she always just says “I’m good and I’m happy for you” but other than that, there’s no communication.
l feel she only want to be my friend when I’m miserable and not when I’m happy.
do I keep trying or just forget it?

Bless you both 🙏🏻 I think you should give up, sadly.

Ironically, when I've given up on trying to be friendly with some people in the workplace they've ended up coming to me. I don't embrace them though, I'm polite but not desperate.
