Lose my shit with DH after he makes remark

my 14 month old has had a rough few nights not feeling well and we’ve been hosting my parents in our small flat - LO has been up upset every night and we’re all feeling knackered. Today my DH wanted to watch the football from 2pm so I cooked dinner for us then occupied our son / played with him / took him out food shopping. My DH went out after the football finished around 4.30pm to go sort out car tyres out and fix something on the car - I asked if he could come back to do LO bedtime. He was late and I ended up doing bathtime / bedtime and he asked me why I was ‘glaring’ at him when he came back in. I often feel like I have to manage who does what instead of him just taking charge and doing these parenting roles with baby so I was annoyed and tired.

he then said under his breath could I not just do bathtime alone for once and all I have had to do this afternoon is ‘heat up babies dinner’ and I completely exploded. I yelled so loud and said how dare he speak to me like that and he has no idea how much I actually do whilst he just creates solo tasks to go do alone. I kept yelling I felt like I’m just at the end of my tether and really lost it. He shouted back that I shouldn’t speak to him like that but I just got louder and then had to go to the bathroom and cried whilst he put him to bed. I just felt like I always have to ask him to do something and he answers me back all the time putting things back on me. Its exhausting.

we also fell out on a rare evening out on Friday night when I brought up the subject of moving up north nearer family whilst he wants to stay in London - the mood turned frosty and he sat in silence in a sulk all evening. I just feel very lonely at frustrated at the moment with him whilst we raise our first baby together.

AIBU to have totally lost my shit? I do feel quite guilty now about it but also I felt like he was waving a rag to a bull with me earlier

You both have to behave and communicate better now there's a child.

Get the baby to bed, make a cup of tea, apologise for shouting and say he's hurt you too anmd explain what you and the baby need. But he's a sulker so he might not be worth at as that's controlling.

Sounds… shite. For all 3 of you sadly.

Yes, you were absolutely unreasonable to have shouted, and continued to shout. That's absolutely not acceptable.
Grow up, and if you have an issue, talk about it like the adults you are. Next time go and sort the car jobs yourself if you prefer, but that was a huge overreaction.
