I sent my husband a 3 minute music video. When I asked him if he had watched, he said yes. I then made a comment about the video and he didn’t know what I was talking about, turns out he watched the first 10 seconds only. He said I assumed he had watched all of the video which is not what he had said, i said if you answer yes to that question then people would assume you had watched all of it.

How would you have interpreted his answer?

YABU - you assumed he watched all of it but what he said didn’t indicate that.

YANBU - most people would interpret his answer to mean he had watched it all.

Ltb. He didn’t watch all of something you sent him??? What if it had had an important message at the end? Ducks in a row op 😅

No, I wouldn’t assume he watched the whole 3 minute video.

I had colleagues (who became friends) and they would send YouTube links via email at work and I’d feel obliged to listen to the songs. 90% of the time I didn’t like the songs because musical taste is so subjective.

I do send my DH links to songs I think he’d like, but I have never asked if he watched it.

Sometimes he responds ‘tune’ but I’ve never asked.

@nomasit was actually a link to an alternative version of a song he likes! But if your husband said he had watched it, wouldn’t you think it was for more than 10 seconds?

I dislike it when people ask me to watch this or that. You enjoy it, isn't that enough?

I'd have took yes to mean he watched it all. If he'd only watched a few seconds I'd have expected the answer to have been "just the first bit. It wasn't for me.." or whatever.

If you assume you make an ass of u and me 😂 Yeah wouldn't assume he'd watched the whole thing.
