Hi,

My 2 boys turn 5 & 6 in a couple of weeks.

What toys/games have your 5/6 year old really enjoyed lately? I’m totally out of ideas.

Thank you! 🙏🏻

It was a while ago for me now, but my kids both really loved the Cath Kidson ice cream shop. They played with it for years. Not sure if you want a joint or separate presents, but if joint, that might be a good one.

My daughter will be 5 in a month, she currently loves bluey, toy story and frozen and little people!
Costco sell a huge bluey playset with two exclusive to Costco characters.
There's loads of little people sets, even a simpsons one now and get some cars to go along with it?
She's also a fan of the magnetic tiles and I notice there is a minecraft version.
She does like craft so more drawing paper, stencils, nicer pencils and crayons
Or even those washimal things that you can draw on and wash it off.
Or if that fails, I usually go for new bike/new scooter

Magnet tiles, with the adds on so you can turn it into a marble run.

Otherwise Lego.

DS(11) enjoyed these at those ages:

Lego
Magnetic tiles
Galt Science Lab or Space kits
Skillmatics Guess in 10 games
Smart Games - do quite a few good ones
Junior Monopoly/Cluedo
Uno card games (several types)
Dobble
Scooters
Archery / cricket sets
Basketball hoop on stand
Swingball

The Wicked Uncle website has some good ideas too.

A MakeDo set and some cardboard boxes!

Mine are now 10 and STILL play with these!

At 4, 5 and 6 my son was Playmobil mad, he'd play with it for hours! He's turning 7 in December and has moved on to Lego - I'm weirdly sad to not be buying Playmobil this year (he does still get it out sometimes, but is 90% playing with Lego so doesn't make sense to buy more) At least the Lego is also fun though!

Other suggestions... Dressing up bits, craft stuff and gross science type experiments or potions - extra points for ones that can be used in the bath!

my grandson is 6 next month and I'm getting B & M's 3 in 1 Table Games - it's table football, air hockey and pool.
