Perfect Drivers -or are they

Based on the recent posts about driving standards (or perceived lack of) am I being unreasonable in thinking there are a lot of people who think they are perfect drivers? I don’t believe any one is, myself included and we all make mistakes to a lesser or greater degree. The day you stop learning as a driver is the day to stop.

Of course they won’t be perfect. Do you not remember the covid threads “I’ve gone for a jog & the park is packed, do people not realise there is a lockdown”. A lot of the population lack self awareness.

Going on the M5 today between Taunton & Exeter & VV in heavy rain with reduced visibility I would suggest that there needs to be a massive expansion of the UK's secure hospital system.

I think most people who drive believe they are at least adequate. Otherwise they wouldn't be on the road would they ?

I also think most people are self aware enough to know they make mistakes now and again and are not perfect, even if they believe their general driving standard is very good.

A truly bad driver will probably end up getting taken off the road by their insurance sooner or later.

It's not great that they might end up going through the process of either injuring themselves or someone else badly before this actually happens though. Which appears to be a hot topic on here atm.
