To think people have forgotten how to drive in this weather?

I’ve just had to come out (not by choice!) and I’m astounded by the quality of driving. It’s pouring with rain, there’s loads of standing water, and it’s blowing a gale. People were driving at full speed, leaving no stopping space and weaving in and out of lands. I can’t believe it!!

Nothing new.

PepeSilviaDoesNotExist · 24/10/2026 16:17

People can’t drive in good weather, never mind bad conditions

exhausted100 · 24/10/2026 16:18

Just been out because I had too…..people racing down the dual carriageway, no lights on etc idiots!

ToKittyornottoKitty · 24/10/2026 16:18

When exactly were people good at driving in this weather?

Weeellokthen · 24/10/2026 16:19

Why can't you believe it!! 🤔
The idiot drivers, drive like idiots, therefore, a bit of adverse weather is not gonna change their behaviours 😁

Pedallleur · 24/10/2026 16:20

They don't think anything will happen. Rain, sun, snow the usual suspects drive the same

For some reason it is almost as if they are saying how clever they are because aren’t you a sorry soul for not driving as fast as they are. Super confident, and able to drive fast.
It is seriously sad. And actually reckless.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2026 16:26

I was shouting, 'Turn your fucking lights on, you twat!' to what felt like every other driver yesterday. God knows why they find it so damn hard to do. 😫 (And it's usually the grey / white / murky cars too.)

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 24/10/2026 16:27

IMO it’s high time we had an automatic lower speed limit in wet conditions, like they do in France. Of course the boy racers and other idiots will ignore it, but still worth introducing.

daffodilandtulip · 24/10/2026 16:29

You didn’t need “in this weather” in your title.

FieldInWhichFucksAreGrownIsBarren · 24/10/2026 16:38

I think people have forgotten how to drive full stop, that's if they ever knew how in the first place...
