AIBU kitchen/electrics drama

Had kitchen rewired pending new kitchen being fitted.

No kitchen fitter is interested in installing the base kitchen cabinets as electrian has left wires (safely) for dishwasher, washing machine, oven and fridge/freezer so that the electric sockets for each appliance can be installed by the electrician inside a base cupboard next to the appliance.

The kitchen installers want the electrical sockets on the wall behind the base units.

I am now without a kitchen due to this stand off.

Anyone had this?

I'm not following. Why does the electrician want sockets somewhere different to where the appliances will actually be? That doesn't make sense to me, I've only ever seen sockets where they are actually going to be used.

The kitchen fitters are being arses OP. It is now standard for a socket for an integrated appliance to be in a cabinet next to the appliance so you can more easily access the plug for checking fuses and appliance testing. Having to remove the appliance to be able to do either of those things is plain stupid (and unnecessary). Once upon a time, you would find sockets floating around on the floor which is a complete no-no near a dishwasher/washing machine - that is no longer allowed. I can only think of 2 reasons why they are being like this; 1) because they will have to drill a 60mm hole in the side of the base cabinet so the appliance plug can be passed through, why this would bother them though is another question and 2) they don't want the electrician to "modify" the base cabinet they installed by attaching a socket to the inside.

Mine are all inside the cupboards (installled two years ago), all labelled and high up! They are being idiots

Thanks for your replies. Will carry on hunting for a kitchen fitter that will do what electricians want as seem sensible.
