Here are the symptoms:

  • Constant need to hang on to or roll his body on things, clumsiness, frequent falling or accidents
  • Switching between constant need to jump about or fidget or staring into space, including staring into space in the middle of activities (eating, doing homework, brushing teeth, playing football), and an inability to sit still without tapping feet or banging table or fidgeting with something (eg. when eating meals)
  • Struggling to make eye contact during conversation (not always), struggling to finish what he wants to say, repeating parts of sentences when telling something, and repeating noises
  • Difficulty understanding personal physical boundaries
  • Mood swings particularly around the end of school or when tired or hungry, and emotional sensitivity
  • Slowness during transitions, forgetfulness also at school (eg. Coming home in his slippers instead of shoes), and difficulty following instructions
Is this normal six year old stuff or something more? Thanks!

Could be anything - SPD dyspraxia, autism, adhd - get him assessed if you are concerned

So no means I'm not unreasonable to think it, meaning he probably is neurodivergent,
And yes means I am unreasonable to think it, so he's not neurodivergent, just normal six year old stuff.

Thanks we are. I'm just wondering if I'm overreacting.
