Daughter aged 26 desperately wants a boob job she’s got a 5 year old and split from dad who was vile to her about her body she hates her boobs and is very down about them she has in her words no volume she’s a B cup and they are very saggy with large nipples again her words the cost in the UK is £14000 but the turkey option is £4000 I’m so worried something will happen she as asked me to attend the trip with her to get them done if push comes to shove I will go with her as she is single so wouldn’t want her on her own as anyone else had this type of operation in a foreign country can you give me any advice to support her
she is a beautiful person inside and out I just wish she didn’t have this downer on her body

What part of the UK are you in OP? My DD is 27 and has just had hers enlarged. She's petite, size 6-8 and was very flat chested. She had her op last month and is now a C cup. She paid less than £9k. Excellent surgeon. We're South East, Greater London.

Just remember, cheaper isn't necessarily better. You need to carefully research surgeons and their techniques and find reviews (good and bad) from people who have used them previously.

Thanks we aren’t far from London so it’s an option she needs an uplift and nipples reduction and it’s coming out at over 13000

I agree with the other posters about confidence and self esteem but putting that aside, I suggest she looks at Lithuania which has a better/safer reputation for this type of surgery. I know someone who had a tummy tuck and boob lift/implants there after 3 kids and then losing several stone. She was delighted with the results but above all the treatment and care (you can stay in the clinic for up to 3 nights for £300 a night which is really reassuring or go to a hotel and come in for checks each day) and follow up via video calls (part of one wound was tricky while healing and she got lots of advice on how to manage it). She was so pleased she went back two years later to have the loose skin on her arms removed.

Turkey can be hit and miss (I've heard good this about men's hair transplants but dentistry relies on the patient being a straightforward case) so maybe best to avoid. I'd be worried about language barrier and hygiene.

Yes someone else mentioned Lithuania as being a good choice so bloody hard wish she didn’t have this issue with her body 😢

£14000? I had mine done in the UK at a private hospital for £7000

Ah ok, my DD didn’t need the uplift or any alteration of the nipples, so that may well add to the price. I’d still be wary of going to Turkey though for such surgery.

monymonymony · 22/10/2026 07:41

The cost in the UK starts at 5k and you can opt for installments with most providers

monymonymony · 22/10/2026 07:44

Sunbringer · 21/10/2026 19:03

She knows they have to be redone right?

Not for the next 20 years so hardly an issue for a 26 year old

Yogabearmous · 22/10/2026 07:44

When the cost of living is so high and being a single parent, this is a lot of money to spend. If it goes wrong, she will pay more and more for corrective surgery.

Kelta · 22/10/2026 07:44

Is she aware that she will need to pay the same again have them removed in c10 years time. Does she have that kind of money? The she will be left with empty bags again unless she also has an uplift and reduction.

Mine ruptured. Having the silicon removed was a long operation. The silicon had migrated and was blocking my lymph nodes. I made the decision have mine done at age 24 when I was probably too young to think it through properly.

IwanttoWFH · 22/10/2026 07:49

I had implants 17 years ago, when I was 24. I am now waiting to have them removed and replaced with much smaller implants (I’ve lost a lot of weight and they are far too big for my frame). As I’m going much smaller, I also need an uplift to remove any loose skin/tissue. Unfortunately, no implants at all aren’t an option as weight loss and the gym has meant I don’t have much of my own breast tissue left.

The cost of this is £12.5K. This includes all appointments, overnight stay etc.

I did look into going abroad and ruled it out. Yes, it’s cheaper, but you have to factor in flights, accommodation, insurance, expenses etc. At Nords in Lithuania, you have to stay for five nights until they will say you are fit to fly. I wouldn’t want to be away from home for that long, whilst recovering. I also didn’t fancy the idea of a long journey and the flight home. Plus, the lack of aftercare also put me off.

I’d suggest she tries to save as much as possible to have it done in the UK, and that she sees more consultants to try to get a cheaper price!

Well the positives are that it is much more minor surgery than a reduction, but it is still surgery with all the attendant risks from the anasthesia and post operative infection. Once you have had a child (and don't plan to have any more, because you wouldn't be able to breast feed ) is the best time to have this done as the skin has been stretched already. Obviously nothing can really be done about having big nipples though.
The down sides are the risks, and the extra risks of being in a foreign country where few people speak English if anything goes wrong.
Personally I think the money would be better spent on counselling, to help your daughter feel better about her body- there is always a risk that once she has had her boobs done she gets hooked on "improving" things and will want other things nip, tucked , enhanced or reduced.
I made costumes and wedding dresses for years and so I have seen lots of boob jobs up close and TBH after 5-10 years they tend to look and feel pretty gruesome, so she will have to square up to an ongoing cost.

5-10 years is not the standard shelf life, 3 of my friends have had breast enhancements in their 20s so 20 years ago, their breasts still look gorgeous. And to be honest had my breasts been saggy in my 20s. Sometimes an 'ugly' hat is just an ugly hat and one does not need counseling for wanting a new one.

byedriver · 22/10/2026 07:58

Absolutely no way she should consider Turkey for major surgery like this. Madness. I would also expect her to get it done for way less than £14K in the UK.

I've had a reduction + uplift in the UK. No implants. I looked for a surgeon that did oncology reconstructions as his/her main bread & butter and mine did a fabulous job, despite trying to talk me out of it inc warning me my nipples might go black and die.

I have quite a few friends with implants. Capsular contracture was an issue for a few of them, meaning a second op to fix. And of course just needing the implants redone as time passes. Eventually when she has them out she will need an uplift.

Would she consider an uplift now with no silicone? One time op assuming she doesn't have any more kids. As a busty woman, even after a reduction, I would love small, pert boobs.

Limpbiscuits · 22/10/2026 08:02

Some of the replies on this thread just show that people have no idea what it’s like to be in your DDs shoes.

I had my breasts done 18 years ago, and I have no regrets. Funnily enough, no amount of therapy would have fixed the fact that I had NO breast tissue 🙄 and I haven’t had any other cosmetic procedures since - having one procedure doesn’t mean you’ll suddenly find fault with every other part of your body.

They also don’t need replacing or removing every ten years. Mine still look fabulous 18 years on.

I feel for your DD, it really is miserable hating that part of your body!

Pinadaqx2 · 22/10/2026 08:04

Has your DD tried counselling? Never had surgery but a relative of mine in looking at a Boob job too. Im sure you can get cheaper prices than 14k within England.

You can have a child and not breastfeed them. Breastfeeding is not mandatory. I agree with everything else you said, though.

Does she really though? If her vile ex had been critical about her face, would she need to change that too?

I think counselling would be an ideal first step.

byedriver · 22/10/2026 08:09

My friend has (massive) implants and has just breast fed her baby.

After my reduction, I was told unlikely to ever be able to breastfeed again as some important bits were removed.

CrowsInMyGarden · 22/10/2026 08:09

My daughter had a boob job in the UK a few years back. She was a student and working part time and looking after a baby. She got it on finance from the clinic so paid in instalments. At the time I thought this was a big mistake and I didn’t want her to do it but it is all paid for and she is happy. Maybe an option?

How is your situation remotely similar to the OPs daughter's? You had no breast tissue, she has breasts. Was it abuse that made you desire surgery?

Some where in Manchester does this too where you can pay month. Not sure of the name of the clinic though.

WhatNoRaisins · 22/10/2026 08:20

Does she have tubular breasts? If so she needs to do her research and find someone who has experience of surgery in that area. It sounds a little more complex which might be why it's more expensive.

Well, as I said that is not my experience. Saline is certainly superior to silicone but has not been going for that long so how they will withstand the test of time remains to be seen- your friends have been extremely lucky, the several 20 year old boob jobs have seen certainly didn't look gorgeous- but as with all plastic surgery it depends on the individual.

Bikergran · 22/10/2026 08:43

RUOKHUN · 21/10/2026 18:03

Sorry to jump in, but as someone looking to get a boob job (asymmetrical) why is a reduction considered more major?!

Because a reduction involves cutting quite deep into the breast tissue and removing some, doing so symmetrically and carefully, working around nerves, blood vessels etc, where an increase is basically pushing tissue aside and apart to make a space to insert an implant with a lot less cutting involved.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 22/10/2026 08:47

There is no way I would go to Turkey for any surgery.
If she wants a cheaper place with a high quality service, eu regulations, Lithuania is the place to go. It’s 50% less than Ireland.
You can have breast implants in Ireland for between €6/7000.
14,000 is ridiculously expensive.
Missed your update and a lift etc.
I still say Lithuania.
I have heard horror stories of being completely naked while put to sleep in Turkey. No gown, no English, fear. No way. Inadequate pain medication.

Mine were done 20+ years ago. They still looked completely fine. I had no idea my implants had ruptured. It was only discovered when I had a mammogram. Actually they were causing serious potential issues.

My surgeon (UK based) said there are literally tens of thousands of women walking around with ruptured implants who don't realise.

I asked if implants are safer now. He said yes but if you'd asked him 20 years ago when he was putting implants in he would have said the same thing. You only find out about the issues later down the line.

Kelta · 22/10/2026 09:52

Also bear in mind that recovery from a reduction is quite long. There is no way I would have wanted to get on a plane a week later.
