To be paranoid and believe that *every* important communication arrives on a Friday...

..or Saturday?
You know the sort of thing.
You're waiting all week (or weeks!) for that letter/phone call/email from the local authority/solicitor/NHS/utility company/tradesperson - and it arrives late on a Friday when there's no option but to deal with it on Monday and spend the entire weekend stressing about it.
Paranoia or fact?

As my Irish ma would have said "Sure if that's all you have to worry about, sure you've got nothing to worry about"...

Fact! My solicitor sent me a copy of my STBEH's solicitor's letter which was full of infuriating lies and accusations at 4pm on a Friday. Needless to say when I phoned his office he had left the building. When I spoke to him, calmly, on the Monday he said he was just saving me money 😅

These facile responses are so irritating. You have no idea what’s going on in someone’s life from one post.

In some instances it's deliberate to avoid panic or rage calls. My local council always issues school offers at close of business so people have overnight to calm down and gather themselves before they can get through to anyone.

Yes of course. At work if I have shit news to land I’ll always do it last thing on a Friday. Gives the other side almost three days before they can do anything about it. In some cases that means they have worked out their anger by the Saturday and reconciled themselves to the fact it’s happening on the Sunday.

Sometimes I just want to ruin their weekend 🤷‍♀️

I had a ghastly manager who used to fire off all the bad news emails at 5.30 on Fridays. To make it even worse, we started the week with a team meeting at 10am on Mondays, and that would be when we all addressed all the bad-news emails. So the week would start horribly and end horribly.

He wasn’t a nasty man, perfectly pleasant, really. But he couldn’t manage to save his life. I was both relieved and sad when he was finally fired.

Its a fact for sure. My boss will always give me bad news on Friday afternoon and Ill spend the whole weekend fuming with my anxiety through the roof. Come Monday it will turn out to be nothing.

Guilty as charged then. 😁

The LA used to send out emails to me on a friday and hit her out of office immediately running out the door it was pretty pointless because all it did was give me the weekend (or one of her never ending holidays) to get myself extremely cross and I called hellfire and fucking brimstone the last time (followed the complaints process and called in my MP who was pissed as hell at her CONTINUED time wasting budget wasting shenanigans) i dont believe she has a job in that department anymore thing is if she had followed due process it would have been cheaper my son would have been local no need for transport but noooo we felt the need to fuck around with a child's education for a couple of years "im aware he is 7/8 YEARS BEHIND but I still think he might do well in an autism base in a mainstream secondary" meanwhile all the secondary schools are looking at an edited ehcp thinking ok maybe? Then they were sent the real one and responded FUCK OFF what do you MEAN he cant go to the toilet or eat unsupervised he runs away from school? He has speech and language issues we arnt set up for how exactly do you think we are going to cope with this?

What a waste of time
