To ask, if you had ab separation during pregnancy, did it go back to normal afterwards?

6 months pregnant with my third, 38 years old. Before pregnancy, had done a lot of exercise and got to a place where I was happy with how I looked. Just found out I have ab separation (2 fingers). Worried my tummy won’t go back to normal afterwards at all, and I won’t be able to do exercise anymore?

If they didn't separate, there wouldn't be room for the baby! Everyone has it. Be careful what exercise you do now and for a few months after (no planks, and don't sit straight up in bed but roll onto your side first) and it will be probably be fine. Most women go back together just fine within a few weeks, and if it doesn't, timely physio really on helps in most cases.

That is reassuring thank you!

Surely everyone’s stomach muscles separates? Can’t see how it’s possible for it not to separate. I have rock solid abs now - but did a lot of core work after each pregnancy.
