really glad to see this is going to be clamped down on

but still think 5 minutes isn’t long enough to download an app and go through the payment process, after entering a car park and finding a space, scanning the board etc

A generic-looking image shows a row of cars seen front-on with yellow and black Penalty Charge Notices affixed to their windscreens, on a road near Gatwick Airport in 2017.

Burnham vows end to 'rip-off parking charges' under new rules

Penalties are seen as too harsh on motorists who are penalised for parking on private land.

I welcome these changes, but what we really need is either a single, universal parking app or a law that means there must always be a method of payment that doesn't require a mobile phone - card or cash.

Many of these issues happen because people struggle to download different parking apps, and scammers exploit the situation with fake QR codes - it is a shambles.

There should be one universal government approved app. This could be in the form of a gateway app to existing legitimate providers, but it should be a download one app and done - or, there should always be a card or cash machine.

I think that Burnham should focus on bigger fish. Parking, bus fares, VAR in the Premier League. What a bell end. Still behaving like a provincial mayor rather than PM.

Do you think his trip to German last week was curtailed by this parking or the VAR in the premier league. A PM can concentrate on more than one issue at a time and the press will of course report to your narrative if it suits

I think the problem is that he's scared to deal with anything controversial like welfare reform, defence spending, energy prices, illegal immigration etc. etc. but wants to be seen as "helping". Hence the dicking around with relatively inconsequential stuff. He's a clown.
