AIBU to speak to my neighbours?

We’ve got new neighbours. Basically, they’re noisy AF. Screaming at all hours, thudding every evening and weekend so far. Dog howling during the day. They are loud if I can hear them as loud as I can because the builder told me he soundproofed it before these neighbours moved in (they’re renting from the builder) Im generally very patient and accommodating and don’t like confrontation but I’m considering mentioning something to hopefully nip things in the bud sooner rather than later. What do you think? They’ve been in about 3 weeks.

YANBU - mention it to them
YABU - put up with it for a while, they’re new it will settle down.

You're not being unreasonable, but if they are genuinely that loud then they don't give a shit that you can hear and won't change.

You know the landlord. Speak to him about the noise.

Before speaking to them first, do you think?

That depends on what they are like !
Have you actually met the neighbours or spoken to them since they moved in ?

They won't care that it bothers you, they sound like noisy people full stop. They are not going to radically change themselves or lifestyle to suit you. If it was something that could be easily fixed like moving a washing machine away from a joining wall or something then id suggest you say something. But this just sounds like you are going to have to put up with them for the duration they live there so best not to piss them off. Maybe try making friends with them..

I basically saw them in passing in the first few days as I was getting out of my car, them getting in theirs and it was heavily raining so only very brief where I introduced myself and said welcome.
