Vinted buyer CFery!!! Refunded for wrong item now selling item

I sent 2 parcels at the same time and mixed them up. I messaged this buyer before they received their parcel telling them that there had been a mix up and said I would pay for return postage and apologised. She said thanks for letting her know. When the got the parcel she raised a case and vinted told me to sort it with her within 48 hours. I asked for her postcode for me to buy a shipping label, agreed to a refund. She didn’t reply. The order was cancelled after 48 hours and she got a full refund and kept the item! I’ve just checked on her page now and she’s selling it for triple the price I did.

Ive reported to vinted and messaged her… is this CF behaviour? What else can I do?

Vinted have said they won’t touch it because a case has already been closed on it (the original refund issue)

Short of reporting to the police, or issuing a complaint on vinted there’s not much you can do. Agree it’s CFery though. Some people have no shame.

You should buy it and then sell it for triple her price to make your money back.

TinyBlueDent · 14/10/2026 13:23

I'd call that theft rather than CF. Is there a review system for customers on Vinted?

Vintedfuckup · 14/10/2026 16:57

Vinted have said I have to sort it out with her but she’s saying it’s not my item? Who can I contact about this? She’s received a refund of £60 and a brand new designer item that she’s selling!

Match her energy. Buy the item. Then say it never arrived or was the wrong item !

StabiaGirl · 14/10/2026 17:08

Get someone close to you to buy the item, get refunded and get this thread deleted now.

Do you have any identifying information from it like a serial number? I'd report it to the police and tell vinted they're allowing selling of stolen goods.

amylou8 · 14/10/2026 17:48

Not sure how that happened. If she raised an issue you should have been able to request that it was returned and sent her a vinted label. Then when it tracked back to you she'd have got a refund.
No criminal offence I'm afraid, it's not theft as she didn't dishonestly appropriate the property (retired police officer).
You could persue it as a civil matter if you have her name and address. You'd need to send a letter before action and then raise it with Money claim online, what used to be the small claims court.

amylou8 · 14/10/2026 17:50

Or potentially your claim is against vinted as they were the ones that refunded her. But they will ban your account if you raise legal action.

cheesychipsontheoche · 14/10/2026 17:51

Why did you need her postcode for the return request? You just say you’ll pay postage within the dispute and the returns label is issued automatically through Vinted. Then if she hadn’t have returned you’d have been paid.

I agree. Whenever I’ve had to return something, the seller has issued a label which I’ve used to send the item back. I can’t imagine what use to buyers post code would be when processing a return.

This 💯

So she bought an unrelated item to the one she received but she just so happens to have the exact thing you were selling to someone else and decided to sell that just at the precise time you accidentally sent her that same thing?

That’s one of the biggest coincidences ever!

Katrinawaves · 14/10/2026 17:57

It’s massively inconvenient when sellers “mix up their parcels” though. If I had time to fuck around with printing return labels and taking packages to a drop off point, I’d enjoy spending that time browsing the shops not buying online. I get you’re annoyed but she probably was too when she didn’t get the item she wanted and was expected to do all this admin to get an item she didn’t order and didn’t want back to you.
