I arranged a meeting/interview with a radio presenter recently as part of my PhD research, which took place in person. I wasn't starstruck, it's not someone who sees himself as a celebrity. But when I arrived the first thing I said was "God you look good in those glasses." It was just an instinctive response. No it wasn't Chris Evans, it's someone I've never seen wearing glasses before.

I feel a bit silly! God knows what he secretly thought!

I think people who mainly work on the radio and are known primarily by their voices will be used to getting surprised reactions when people meet them in the flesh and see what they actually look like.
I'm sure he won't think badly of you.

I worked for a local TV/radio journalist and was surprisingly star struck and joked about it with his wife. Strangely I have met hughly successful and influential performers and successful sportsmen over the years and never felt the same way as talking to him. I put it down to hearing his voice for many years over the radio.
