I have prayed to St Anthony so it’s only a matter of time, but it would help my blood pressure a great deal if anyone has any pointers?

Mine had fallen down the back of a radiator once, it was balancing on the skirting board on the gap underneath it. Thankfully it had expired anyway!

3luckystars · 07/10/2026 12:26

Offer st Anthony money, but you must pay it afterwards.

pull the drawers out entirely. Check your luggage.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 07/10/2026 12:32

Oh I didn’t know about money for St A, I’ll do that now - local homeless charity?
goibg through everyone’s suggestions, thanks all
it is maroon

check handbag especially zip pockets
DId you change bags
Have you been away recently and use other bags - or suitcase side pockets
check usually culprit drawers - desk, filing, kitchen junk, sideboard
Has someone else had it e.g. checking in online?
Do you have somewhere it is supposed to be e.g. fire safe - is it on or near instead of in?
Have you had to send it off or use for something - check coat pockets, jacket pockets or other clothes - or even near where you would have taken those clothes off.

Do you have any shelves where you "just pop stuff pending proper put away"

Thats me out

cornflakecrunchie · 07/10/2026 12:47

Look inside jumpers in drawers, don't just move them. It could be 'inside' a folded one.

drivinmecrazy · 07/10/2026 12:50

Where would you ordinarily put it, and work from there

Whatifitallgoesright · 07/10/2026 12:53

Do you use a bumbag? Is it still inside it?

clary · 07/10/2026 12:54

Yeh mine was in our scanner. Found after I got a new one.

A thread once the OP found it in the “right” drawer but it was so full the PP had clung to the bottom of the drawer above!

All other suggestions good too.

Walker1178 · 07/10/2026 12:56

I lost mine last year, turned the house upside down before we found it - I’d placed it under the big heavy plant we have in the lounge as it had a kink in the cover and I wanted it flat. Never again will I take any of our passports out of their usual place unless they’re needed for a holiday!

cartagenagina · 07/10/2026 12:58

It’s in a bag at the bottom of the wardrobe.

Mulledjuice · 07/10/2026 12:58

i wish I could help, but I just found mine in the most random place, I don't know HOW it got there

MaggieGlover · 07/10/2026 12:59

A coat pocket you haven’t worn in a while?
in the bookcase with some other paperwork?
zipped in a bag pocket-in a vacuum sealed bag of summer stuff in the loft?

LydiaJayne · 07/10/2026 12:59

I agree with looking in the place you think it should be, it's so easy not not see something you're looking for until you look multiple times

Clear your mind and start looking again in the most likely places
Do you have a bumbag or similar you only use for holidays?

Chocolateteabag · 07/10/2026 13:00

Mine had stuck itself to the sticky bit on a magazine I’d put on top of it
I had then looked though the pile on my desk several times, gone through the whole house and rubbish bins, before finally doing “one last check”

Good luck

GrimDamnFanjo · 07/10/2026 13:02

Mine fell down the back of my computer desk and was there for months.

Maybeitllneverhappen · 07/10/2026 13:08

Look everywhere you've already looked but slowly and carefully. I keep losing things and searching for them in places they should be, but not actually "seeing" them till I've looked 3 times. They're always where I think I put them. I'm beginning to realise there's something wrong with me! 🤔😶

Maybeitllneverhappen · 07/10/2026 13:09

Also, take all the drawers out of chests and check it's not been pushed out the back and fallen underneath. 🤞

Yogafiend · 07/10/2026 13:10

Dont know if someone already suggested this but I was once looking for mine desperately. Couldnt find it. It was in the photocopier as I needed it scanned for something that I can’t remember. I hope you find it.

Cookingdoesntgettougher · 07/10/2026 13:11

Already where you need it for the trip.

Already where you need it for the trip, but you have decided to take a different bag.

Shedmistress · 07/10/2026 13:12

Did you use it to book the tickets, or give it to someone else to book the tickets?

Pumpkinsaregrowingnicely · 07/10/2026 13:13

Pile of clothes only worn on holiday?
Check every drawer in the house.
Car door ?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 07/10/2026 13:17

Where might you have stashed it at the airport last time you used it? Mine often turns up in a handbag I haven’t used since then, in a side/front pocket of a suitcase, in the pocket of trousers that haven’t been put through the wash, or in the jacket I wore, or in DH’s travel bag that he uses on flights. It sometimes finds it’s way into my work laptop bag when I’ve taken it on domestic flights for work to have as ID.

TheBookShelf · 07/10/2026 13:22

Perhaps where it normally is, but tucked inside another key document or another family member's passport? Or in an envelope?

There's nothing wrong with you, it's a known thing. I've had to Google to remind me of the name, it's called perceptual blindness

I mean maybe there's something wrong with you but it's still a thing 😁

DelphiniumBlue · 07/10/2026 13:26

My friend had to cancel a holiday because she lost hers and didn't have time to get a new one. It turned up in a locker at work that she'd forgotten about, months later. Might you have used it for ID at work?
