AIBU to ask if we are doing alright financially?

I’m 30 with 2 kids under 3
I am married and I work part time whilst DH works full.
The kids go nursery 3 times a week.
I am able to save £250 a month and also invest £250 a month too. I contribute £400 monthly into my SIPP as I’m self employed.

I can’t do any more than this currently as I would rather not work more than 3 days while the kids are small.

I have £40,000 invested. We have a small mortgage of around £65,000 left on our home.

My husband also had savings but he’s using them to take over an existing business franchise.

Are we doing ok as a young family?

Is your mental health ok? I’m not sure why you feel you need to ask this question.

The fact that you are even asking this shows how little awareness you have of the world outside your - no doubt £3k+ - front door. Go brag to your mates if you have any or spend a bit more time focusing on current affairs to make some small attempt to educate yourself about the world.

Hmm you could do better. Why not write a novel, I think writing fiction is right up your street. You're a natural.

It’s not fiction, this is my honest reality.
I know there are many worse off than me, but in my circle there’s a few who are living very well and the mums hardly work.
