I need help.
I have posted before but I’m getting desperate. I have more days with migraine than without them. I have previously tried propranolol and amitriptaline as preventatives but neither worked. I previously had sumatriptan but now have zolmitriptan. Nothings working and I’m at the end of being able to cope. I saw a GP again this week who put me on the mini pill as at least some of these start with hormone fluctuations but obviously that won’t work for a while. I’m going to try and speak to a doctor tomorrow.
Is there a medication that can stop this cycle of non stop migraines? I’m absolutely desperate and miserable.

I started getting migraines when I started my periods, aged 13. They blighted my teens and twenties, but disappeared when I was pregnant or breastfeeding. It's fairly clear they were hormone related. Then they returned with a vengeance in my mid-30s when I'd finished having my family. Around that time I was put on an anti-depressant and noticed that it miraculously reduced the severity and frequency of my migraines. I'd already tried beta blockers and tryptans, which were in their infancy then, but they didn't work for me. So increasing serotonin by taking an anti-depressant was the magic bullet for me. I've been lucky since then as my migraines disappeared completely with the onset of the menopause.
