AIBU to wonder whether to include gift receipts with presents?

When you buy gifts for people do you include the receipt? Does it bother you if people take it back or exchange it?

Do you ask them or once it's bought you don't ask any further questions about the gift?

If it's something like clothing and the shop provide Gift Receipts without the price on, like M&S do, then yes I include the receipt

Does every shop, restaurant etc do gift cards?

Pretty much all do.
I wouldn't recommend buying any vouchers for TG Jones (new name for ex-high st branches of WHSmith) as they are closing loads of branches down.

I always put the gift receipt in a marked envelope and include it in the parcel.

I have a relative who always said “just ask for the receipt if you need it” and was then terribly offended if you asked.

I do my best to buy people something they like, but if they don’t like it, or it doesn’t fit or they’d just prefer something else it doesn’t bother me at all.

I never ever ask about a gift after it’s been given.
