£60 for a primark jacket, really?

Primark on Vinted

But no one has to buy it for £60, so I don’t see what’s wrong with listing it? I wouldn’t buy Primark from Primark, never mind second hand but if that’s what people like then more power to them.

Just had a look on Primark's website out of curiosity - it was originally £26 then reduced to £15 but it's out of stock in all sizes - so guessing at some point it 'caught on' with the influencer set.

I don't personally like that colour of check but what I really dislike about it is the way it seems to bulge out at the waist and be pulled in with elastic. It has all the cachet of a cheap 1980s anorak and I can't imagine what figure type that would flatter - curvy and you'd look like a cottage loaf; slim and you'd look like a toffee apple on a stick.

That style is currently fashionable. Think it’s called a bubble hem. There’s a lot of Zara jackets like that currently.

Puppylucky · 28/09/2026 20:09

Not a popular opinion on this thread but I was introduced to Primark via Vinted (not one near me) and I have been really impressed! The quality is mid range and the designs can be really nice. That being said that particular jacket is vile!

crazeekat · 28/09/2026 20:14

It’s the OP’s jacket. She can sell it at any price she likes, as long as she is describing it truthfully then buyer can decide if it’s worth it or not. Why are you that bothered?

BugJuice · 28/09/2026 20:17

mychildiswild · 28/09/2026 17:46

It is crazy!
Viral or not, it’s still a primark item so not worth £60. I used to shop at primark when I was younger and sometimes still do so it’s not me being snobby, I just don’t think the quality is as good.

It’s worth what someone will pay for it

But it's not the OPs jacket.

This is hideous it looks like something my dad would have worn in the 80’s

While I like Zara's fragrances, I find their clothes very dull.

I’ve seen the same jacket on there though listed for £35, so this seems abit steep!

then people will haggle it down. is that item still listed? same condition? same size?

I get really annoyed at seeing Primark on Vinted!
I really wish you could filter out brands.
Apart from that I love Vinted, too much probably 🤣

just filter for the brands you want, set a minimum price. it isn't hard. why shouldn't people be able to sell their clothes to other people just because you don't like the brand? it's like me saying I get really annoyed at seeing size 14 clothes in Vinted, I don't want them!

cheesychipsontheoche · 28/09/2026 20:38

I buy loads of old Primark Atmosphere stuff on Vinted. The quality is actually great and just shows how poor clothing has got on the high street over the past 20 years

Tbf, if someone is willing to pay it then it IS worth £60. A bit like saying a 1 bed London flat isn't worth 500k - if someone thinks it is, then it literally is haha. Lets see if it sells.

So just select the brands you do want from the drop down list? Confused

Vinted will still show you the brands you haven’t selected on your feed. I’ve specified only 2 shoe sizes on my personalisation filters, and my feed is infested with shoes 2 sizes or more too small!

LaidOnYourBackWithTheBoyWithTheArabStrap · 28/09/2026 20:46

You’re not wrong about the idea of paying £60 for something from Primark but I strongly disagree vinted is rubbish these days! Get most of my toddler’s clothes from there, mainly because I can’t really afford the brands I like brand new and also because she’s really little and doesn’t need new clothes when she’s going to grow out of it fast and wreck it most of the time. The only stuff I buy new for her really is socks and shoes.

tiredtiredd · 28/09/2026 20:47

If silly people will pay that then silly people will sell it. I find Vinted mostly full of overpriced crap now. You can buy new for barely any more expensive if you look hard enough.

Beachtastic · 28/09/2026 18:40

Mad!

Not sure why anyone would want to (a) wear that hideous jacket or (b) dress like Colleen Rooney?

You’re not their target market but many people are.

MadellineBellPictureMeGoneNS · 28/09/2026 20:54

I remember when she done Asda clothes
Photographed in Asda gear carrying a Chanel bag.
Yep just your run of the mill Asda Shopper.

Branleuse · 28/09/2026 20:57

I don't think it will sell for that price.
People can try it on, but it doesn't mean it will sell

Chuffing hell that was only £26 to begin with. Now on sale for £15 in Primark itself.

BradMcStravickSnoggedMe · 28/09/2026 21:09

Not Primark but I saw £1.80 Cath Kidston Tesco carrier bags on vinted and eBay for £6.85. Had black cats and pumpkin patterns. I think some shark bought loads to resell. I hope they're stuck with them.

AMarkAMissionABrandAScar · 28/09/2026 19:14

I never understand this. I search for things by brand e.g. Levi's 501 and then filter by size. Are people really just putting in, for example, red jumper, not filtering and wading through all the £1 tat?

Yeah I do. I’m not bothered about brands so wouldn’t search for a specific brand. I wanted a lilac dress for a wedding this year so searched for lilac dresses, filtered by size and found a lovely one a couple of pages in.

Livelovebehappy · 28/09/2026 22:19

Love Vinted (just a bit pissed off atm with the sizing policy change brackets) but would never buy anything Primark on there. Most stuff after item price plus postage and Vinted fee come to more than the item costs new in store.
