To ask how the hell you actually put together an outfit?!

I’m a size 16-18. I have all these great ideas of outfits (one example in the pictures) but struggle to actually pull them off. What do I do wrong?!

I think this outfit for example would be cute. But it just doesn’t work! What do I get wrong?!

Where do you get belts that fit plus size? I’ve never been able to find any!

I've got these from Amazon and wear them loads. (Digging out this link has actually reminded me that I've got the brown one too, and should find that rather than just wearing the black one all the time!).

They're super comfortable as they're mostly elastic, with just the front bit being more structured.

The way I wear them (might not be your style, but fyi in case it helps) is to wear a skirt with a vest top or fitted top, and then a cardigan on top (either cropped or not long). I undo the bottom half of the buttons so that the belt buckle shows under my cardigan, but that the sides and back of the cardigan go an inch or so over the band of the skirt (and the belt), so that most of the belt isn't 'on display' around my waist. It works well as the flared line of the cardigan also gives me more of a waist.

Then like other have said, super chunky boots (brown or black), plus jewellery.

I think I need to have a bit more confidence in my dressing!

I wouldn’t put that jumper with that skirt. Both are fine in their own right, but not sure they’d work together. I think a jumper goes better with fitted trousers or jeans. That said, I’m no style icon.

I say this to everyone but watch someone like Melissa murrell on instagram / YouTube and she gives ideas for different body shapes.
