to wish people wouldn't keep telling me not to sell all my baby stuff because as soon as I do I will get pregnant?

Because really it's not going to happen.

Offered to sell my buggy to someone today and loads of people said "oh you shouldn't, because as soon as you do you'll get pregnant". Er after three years I don't think so. and really, it's ok, I'm beyond the point of being sad about it any more. .

But why is it that just because everyone seems to know someone who gave up trying and was suddenly pregnant they think it happens to everyone?

I got rid of a load of mine and now am 25 weeks pg. I forgot how much things cost. trying to beg and borrow.

lol. Im sure it does happen to some people, but after three years I am 99% confident that I am not "some". .

In fact we're not even actively trying any more although I am not using any contraception because I am that confident that I cannot fall pregnant.

Oh God, sounds like a variation of the "and then they just relaxed and she fell instantly pregnant" stories that we had from well-meaning ILs. It was so difficult as they really wanted to be helpful, but it had absolutely nothing to do with our situation.

well i kept it after ds and had dd, so sold all of both their things once they grew out of it etc, now we're wanting a 3rd!! oops!! though this time we've agreed we dont mind buying used if need be, a 3rd child would have only got hand-me-downs anyway from either ds or dd, so we dont feel bad, obviously there we still have a few things, but most things will need to be bought again!!

However i dont think it will happen, if your gonna get pregnant again you'll get pregnant again no matter what!!

I got rid of everything as soon as DS didnt need it or grew out of it - cot went at around 15 months etc. Did get fed up of people saying ohhh you may need it again but I knew I wouldnt as we only ever planned one child.
