Guys im 58

Honestly my skin is driving me insane.

Started getting itchy etc two weeks ago.

In past few days it feels like insects are crawling over me and it's spikey and burning and itchy. It is dreadful.

No prescriptions re creams have helped.

Started hrt EVOREL CONTI today. Has this helped anyone and if do how long did it take please?

Not sure about Evorel Conti (whatever that is) but using Oestrogel HRT definitely reduces the itchiness of my peri-menopausal skin. It was a couple of days before it lessened, I think.

It helped with a raft of other symptoms too.

Sanex anti itchiness and anti irritation shower gel worked wonders for me.

I get this just before a hot flash and usually drink a glass of iced water to cool myself down. I also get a flush of anxiety at the same time. I try to think calm thoughts and that helps a lot.

I assume you have ruled out liver and kidney (and any other ominous) causes for the itching?

Exactly the same boat here, exactly what your are describing, been on HRT for a month it started about a week ago. I read it’s your skin reacting to the influx of hormones going back into your system after dwindling away during peri, a bit like getting itchy skin during pregnancy (influx of hormones) I have started drinking much more water and this seems to have helped, don’t know if it’s a placebo or what, but it was driving me INSANE.

Oh my itching is constant.

Pretty sure it's not my liver or kidneys causing this.

Only started my hrt yesterday so hoping itching disappears soon

Could tear my skin off me. Such a weird horrible crawling sensation.

Am hoping htt will kick in soon!

Definitely helped with mine.
My itchy ears and nose, not, but skin- yes.
Fingers crossed!

Yes definitely helped me. It was my first symptom, Vitamins helped initially but after a couple years, only HRT helped. Within 3 days

Have you had a recent blood test? I’m on HRT and am a similar age to you. Towards the end of last year I kept getting the most awful sensation of insects crawling on my skin, it was worse at night and antihistamines didn’t help. I had a blood test and my iron levels were really low. Once those were sorted out, the itching and crawling sensations went.

BleakAF · 27/09/2026 08:24

I'm on patches and they helped a lot with this.

Hermanfromguesswho · 27/09/2026 08:25

I had the same. Was my main, worst peri menopause symptom. HRT has pretty much stopped it thank god
