I love Lilys, had some delivered, opened up beautifully & smelt lovely.
Another gift of Lilys received last Friday, only just started to open, but nothing like I expected, what are these, see pictures.
very disappointed this time & lots of buds not evening opening, no smell either.
are they just a different variety?

Yes. Not all lilies are scented and those ones with a rounded bud tip generally aren't. Oriental lilies with a pointed bud are highly scented.

What are the Lillies on the left called please, if you know?

Can't tell you the variety as there are dozens used in commercial floristry but the left ones are some kind of Oriental Lily, the ones on the right I guess are an LA hybrid as the bud looks too big to be pure Asiatic

Edit to add that the colour is wrong for Asiatic as well as tend to be red, orange, yellow and possibly some pinks. Too many years since I was a florist.to recall perfectly though...
